Welcome To Downtown Mechanicsburg

The Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership welcomes you and invites you to visit our charming American town filled with reminders of a colorful past rooted in the late eighteenth century..

Nestled in the rolling hills of the Cumberland Valley in south central Pennsylvania, Mechanicsburg has evolved from a sleepy farm village to a noisy and prosperous railway transportation hub and now to the fastest growing residential and commercial area in the state.

The Partnership is proud to call Mechanicsburg home. We are an organization made up of business owners, service providers, and residents whose mission is to preserve and revitalize our rich heritage, and encourage and promote business and economic development.

The Partnership hosts events throughout the year that draw people from far and wide, including Earth Day, the long-running annual Art and Wine Walk, Cha Cha Chocolate, Merry Mechanicsburg, and other events designed to showcase our businesses and our heritage.

We also invite you to join us for other festivals and events such as Jubilee Day (the longest-running one-day street festival on the east coast—maybe in the entire country), Community Day in the Park, the New Year’s eve “Wrench Drop,” and Streets of Treats, just for starters.

However, there is no need to wait for a street fair or festival to visit our Borough. Mechanicsburg is open. It maintains a vibrant town culture throughout the year that provides entertainment, varied dining options, historical sites, shopping, and employment opportunities.

“We go back to some streets more often than others… Maybe a street unlocks memories, or offers expectations of something pleasant to be seen, or the possibility of meeting someone old, or someone new… Because some streets are more pleasant than others, we go out of our way to be on one of them.”

-Allan B. Jacobs, Streets: Old Paradigm, New Investment
